Articulations and Memorandums of Agreement

Articulation Agreements are special educational agreements that facilitate the transferability of particular A.S., A.A.S or A.A.T. programs at community colleges and other accredited institutions across the state of Hawai'i and beyond, into specific B.A. or B.A.S. degrees at UH West O'ahu. Articulation agreements have been carefully designed by faculty at both institutions and they provide unique educational benefits. Memorandums of Agreement (MOA) are cooperative agreements formulated around a shared goal that identify the parties involved and their agreed upon roles and responsibilities.  Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) express agreement between two or more parties and identify a common line of action. For additional information about Articulation Agreements between UH institutions, please see Articulation Agreements within the University of Hawai'i System.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Students who are interested in one of the transfer articulation agreements, or detailed pathways identified by an MOA or MOU listed below, must see an academic advisor or counselor at their community college for specific information. In order to be eligible for the special agreement benefits, all students should be identified as participating in an agreement of choice PRIOR TO transferring to UH West O'ahu.

Students should ASK to meet with someone who is familiar with articulation agreements at their institution. Each of the UH community colleges has specific academic advisors, counselors or even faculty members who can advise students regarding the articulation program details.

New agreements are continuously being crafted and all existing agreements are updated regularly. It is the students’ responsibility to contact UHWO academic advisors in order to obtain accurate academic advisement and benefit from a preferred agreement.
