Welcome to UHWO Career Services. We look forward to providing you with information, activities, and events that will help you make informed decisions about your career. We can help you clarify your career goals and plan your transition to graduate school, the workplace, or the next step on your career path.
Face to Face Services
* Career advising by appointment, phone or walk-in.
* Career Class/SD496 - preparing for graduate school, a job or a practicum, several sessions offered each semester.
* Handouts also include preparing for a practicum, writing goals, creating a career network, and planning an effective job search.
* Fall Graduate School Panels with representatives from graduate programs on O‘ahu.
* Annual Spring Career Fair with more than 90 businesses, agencies and organizations.
* Career - related updates through the West Press newsletter.
Online Services
We plan to have Career Services WebCT online the first of September. Because we are funded by a federal grant, you will need to register with Career Services to access career resources on CS WebCT.
* Career Services WebCt - includes Topic Presentations and Topic Handouts on writing a resume, cover letter, and list of references, preparing for an interview, reflecting on your skills, strengths and interests, researching career options, and planning for graduate school.
* Distance Career Advising via email or phone.
* Assistance finding a senior practicum site.
* Career - related updates through the West Press Express at hawaii.edu email sites.
* Online Career Class/SD496 (beginning Spring Semester 2007).
UHWO Career Services is just one resource you can use as you make decisions about your career. Also talk with friends, family, co-workers and professors about your career options. Take time to consider the pros and cons of those options. Think and talk about your long and short term goals with others. Attend Career Services activities, classes and events to get more information and ideas about your major and career.
