English Placement Testing on the way in August

The No’eau Center ‘s services include tutoring and testing

Students who don’t have qualifying ACT, SAT, SAT Writing, AP or COMPASS scores but want to enroll in English courses should register for Authentic Assessment tests scheduled for Aug. 9.

UH West Oʻahu’s First Year Composition Program requires students entering the university to complete assessments for placement in order to ensure student success. The university uses the score to determine whether the student should take ENG 100 Composition or ENG 100T Composition with Tutorial.

Openings are available for the next Authentic Assessment testing, which takes about an hour and a half. This consists of a 30-minute orientation followed by a 50-minute test.  Registration is required and walk-ins are welcome but may not be accommodated due to limited space.  Questions? Contact uhwotest@hawaii.edu or yromer@hawaii.edu.
