Vegetables growing in the UHWO Student Organic Garden

Learn how to prepare food harvested from the UH West Oʻahu Student Organic Garden as part of the fall garden-to-table workshops happening every third Thursday throughout the semester from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the UHWO Hale. All students, faculty and staff are welcome! RSVP via Google form the Monday prior to each Thursday’s workshop.

Thursday, Sept. 17 – Pesto

  • Harvest herbs from the garden and make this versatile sauce that can be used in pasta, pizza, sandwiches, and more. Bring a 1/4 cup to one cup or more of your own almonds, pine nuts, walnuts, macadamia nuts, etc.

Thursday, Oct. 15 – Summer Rolls and dipping sauce

  • Summer rolls are not just for summer! Learn to make this easy, portable snack using garden produce.

Thursday, Nov. 19 – Kimchi

  • Learn to “kimchi-fy” everything with red kimchi sauce used to ferment garden produce into spicy deliciousness. Bring your own recycled glass jar.
