Division of Professional Studies
The Division of Professional Studies provides students with the option of earning a bachelor degree in Business Administration (BABA) or Public Administration (BAPA). Students pursuing a program in Business Administration may concentrate in Accounting, General Business Administration or Marketing. Students pursuing a program in Public Administration may concentrate in Justice Administration, General Public Administration, Health Care Administration or Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management. A certificate in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management and a certificate in Health Care Administration are also available.
Students pursuing either the BABA or BAPA must take core courses in their area of study, including an experiential learning course and courses in their respective areas of concentration.
Students are required to complete the Writing Assessment Examination (WAE) with a score of E (exempt). Students receiving a score of N (not exempt) on the WAE are required to complete HUM 310 Writing Skills with a passing grade. Students must complete a minimum of nine credits of upper-division, Writing-Intensive (WI) course work, including Senior Project or Administrative Practicum. A minimum of six WI credits must come from course work other than Senior Project (486) or Administrative Practicum (490).
It is highly recommended that students consult with a faculty advisor before beginning course work.
