Ka’ala Farms is a cultural learning environment for students and members of the community. It promotes Native Hawaiian tradition through the teaching and growing of Kalo. The land being cultivated is an ancient agricultural site and has been revitalized to continue the tradition of Kalo planting like the Native Hawaiians originally did.
Service Learning involves working in the Lo’i and other cultivating/agricultural activities. The learning will also be facilitated with a discussion and reflection time in the Hale.
