Consultation & Outreach Services
The UHWO Counseling & Development Services (CDS) use their expertise in counseling & psychology to create and offer consultation & outreach activities designed to prevent psychological distress, as well as to educate students, student organizations, faculty & staff about psychological concerns.
Clinicians are available to consult with students, faculty & staff who might have questions about mental health, referring someone for counseling or counseling services in general. We are also available to collaborate with student organizations, classes, faculty & staff to design & implement programs aimed at psychological health & wellbeing.
Consultation
If you, your organization, class or department, have questions of a psychological nature, CDS clinicians are available upon request for individual or group consultations. The clinicians can: (1) discuss issues with students, faculty & staff; (2) assist with crisis situations in person or by phone: (3) provide referral guidance & information; & (4) provide clinical assessment and recommendations regarding situations or events. The staff will respect your privacy and preserve confidentiality in all consultations.
Outreach Programming
CDS staff are available to collaborate with students, classes, student organizations or departments to design & implement presentations, programs or workshops on a wide variety of topics. Scheduling is flexible within the availability of the CDS staff. Topics may include, but are not limited to, the following:
